TrueAllele connects child’s bra to molester

Crime Henry Lewis, Jr. was accused of molesting his ten-year old niece between September 28-30, 2013.
Evidence The victim’s training bra was recovered immediately after the crime.
DNA The county crime lab found a mixture of DNA on the bra containing at least three people.
Match Due to the complexity of the DNA mixture, the lab could not produce a match statistic.
TrueAllele On the same data, the computer connected Lewis and the victim to the training bra. The match statistic to Lewis was in the hundreds of millions.
Cybergenetics    On September 18, 2015, Cybergenetics Dr. Mark Perlin testified before an Ascension Parish jury.
Outcome The jury found Henry Lewis guilty of child molestation. He was sentenced to 50 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
