||In January 2015, officers at Vanderburgh County jail found 21
grams of crack cocaine in the cell of Dugniqio Forest.
||The bag of cocaine was found in a cracker box. Both the
cocaine bag and the cracker box were taken as evidence.
||The Indiana State Police Lab developed DNA mixture data from
the evidence items.
||Due to the complexity of the mixture data, the laboratory
could not produce DNA match statistics.
||The computer connected the bag of cocaine and the packaging
from the cracker box to Dugniqio Forest. The match
statistics were 24.9 trillion and 708 quintillion.
||On June 3, 2016, Dr. Mark Perlin from Cybergenetics testified
at the Evansville, Indiana Daubert hearing and trial.
||Dugniqio Forest was found guilty of possession of cocaine. He
was sentenced to serve 11 years in prison, to be added
onto his previous sentence of 2 years.
