Serial restaurant robber identified by DNA evidence

Crime Between July 2015 and May 2016, a series of restaurant robberies were committed in Ventura County, California. The serial robber held up employees at gunpoint as they ended their shifts.
Evidence Police collected a cellphone from the perpetrator, zipties used to restrain a victim, and a drinking straw from a restauraunt.
DNA The Ventura County Sheriff's Office developed DNA from the evidence items.
Match Due to the complexity of the mixture data, the forensics lab was unable to draw conclusions from the DNA evidence.
TrueAllele On the same data, the computer connected the evidence items to Love with match statistics of 246, 13.1 quintillion, and 13.2 quintillion.
Cybergenetics    On September 25, 2017, Casework Supervisor William Allan testified before a Ventura County jury.
Outcome Love was found guilty of five counts of robbery. On November 27, 2017, he was sentenced to 90 years to life in prison.
