Evidence analyzed from bar attack

Crime In 2015 at a bar in Quincy, MA, a man punched and stomped on 42-year-old Kieth Bourdreau’s head. The victim died from his injuries. Paul Fahey was charged with, tried for, and convicted of murder in 2017. His first trial was overturned on appeal.
Evidence Evidence collected included swabs of the bottom of the defendant’s boot and his vehicle’s gas and brake pedals.
DNA The Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory generated DNA data from the evidence items.
TrueAllele TrueAllele interpreted the DNA evidence data and statistically excluded the victim from the defendant’s boot and vehicle swabs.
Cybergenetics    On December 12, 2023, Cybergenetics casework supervisor William Allan testified in defendant Fahey’s re-trial before a Norfolk County jury about the TrueAllele DNA results.
Outcome Following the re-trial, the jury convicted Mr. Fahey of involuntary manslaughter.
